What is luschka ducts?

Luschka ducts are small openings that are located in the gallbladder. They are also known as subvesical ducts or cystic ducts. These ducts connect the gallbladder with the hepatic ducts, which are located in the liver. The main function of Luschka ducts is to allow the flow of bile from the liver to the gallbladder and from the gallbladder to the small intestine. These ducts are named after German anatomist Hubert von Luschka, who first identififed them in the mid-19th century. While Luschka ducts normally do not cause any problems, they can sometimes rupture due to trauma or gallbladder surgery, leading to bile leakage and other complications.
